I remember the joy of waking up and finding that we were having a snow day. There is something about an unscheduled day off…..a day just to play that was like a gift. Then I became a real estate investor and now have the freedom to make my own “snow days” only I don’t actually have to have snow to make them! This is an uncommon freedom and something I try never to take for granted. I didn’t get here alone.
Today though we actually have snow. Yesterday I made a trip down the mountain to gather supplies as we knew this storm was coming. Being able to stay here, warm and cozy and not having to worry about not being able to get to work is a wonderful thing. Taking a walk, laughing as Terry tried to dump snow on my head….unsuccessfully I might add, and making hot chocolate and planning for 2007 is how I spent the morning.
As I reflect on the past year and look forward to the coming one I am grateful for the people who have come into my life, the opportunities I’ve had to learn and the opportunities I’ve had to teach. I wish everyone reading this the best in 2007.
